Business Manager
Stone Designs, Inc. and the Granite Garden Gallery seek an experienced individual to manage day-to-day company needs, as well as the development and execution of strategic planning for scaling the current business structure. This is a multifaceted role in a small business/team environment. The Business manager will be responsible for personnel management and setting financial goals with the opportunity to develop the position as the company grows. The Business manager will work closely with the company owner to train and transition responsibilities over a year. We value creative thinking, innovative solutions, and continued growth individually and as a team here at Stone Designs, Inc. The successful candidate hired will possess the ability to remain calm, kind, and respectful even when faced with the challenges of business development.

Responsibilities
-
Strategic planning and development of goals and objectives that promote company growth

Ensure that the company has adequate and suitable resources to complete production (e.g. people, materials, equipment, etc.)

Organize and coordinate operations in ways that ensure maximum productivity

Delegate responsibilities to the appropriate team member
-
Supervise the scheduling, hiring and firing of team members, including feedback and counsel to improve efficiency and effectiveness

Maintain relationships with team members, business partners, vendors and suppliers
-
Gather, analyze, and interpret external and internal data specifically for business growth
-
Ensure adherence to legal/safety rules and guidelines

Marketing and promotion of the gallery and products

Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job and overseeing staff, the manager would regularly be exposed to moving mechanical parts, heights, fumes, airborne particles, outside weather conditions, and loud noises. The ability to jump in and help lift heavy weight of 75 lb is sometimes required. We are located in Downeast Maine; the ability to live in rural communities with limited access to large cities must be considered before applying.

Bonus $5K for hitting financial goals, and another $5K for hitting production/performance goals.

Maintenance
We are seeking a part time employee with a possibility of evolving to a full time position and need help with overall maintenance and optimizing work efficiency. This person will primarily be responsible for grounds, facility, and equipment upkeep.

Craftsperson
We are looking for someone with craftsperson skills or talent that has yet to be discovered! This person will have the responsibility of creating quality products. The ideal candidate should be willing to complete additional maintenance tasks necessary to keep production running smoothly.

Year-Round and Seasonal (May-December) available
Part Time, with options of advancement to full time

Studio Manager
We are excited for a Studio Manager to join our team in planning, organizing, and overseeing production. Candidates should be highly proficient in hand tools, power tools, and heavy machinery. Innovation and agility are required to develop and maintain production systems and equipment in a versatile working environment. We are seeking a motivated individual to work with our team in a pursuit of self improvement and company growth. Flexibility is required as specific responsibilities may change as the company evolves. Additionally, we need help strategizing the building, layout, and construction of a new stone processing facility.

Office Administrator
​
Stone Designs and the Granite Garden Gallery seek an experienced office manager. This is a multifaceted role in a small business/team environment. The office manager is responsible for various functions including financial oversight (working closely with an external accountant), product inventory and online store management. The office manager reports directly to the Business Manager and works closely with the Studio Manager. Other duties of this role are as needed and assigned.
Employment Type: Part time, 25 hours per week
Compensation is commensurate with experience and ability.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Keeps track of all monthly and yearly expenses

Works closely with bookkeeper and accountant

Reports team member hours to payroll
-
File photos in appropriate locations
-
Managing online store (photographing new products, packaging/shipping, website updates)

Maintains personnel records and any additional records that reflect the current work assignment, organizational location and classification of each position

Keep all calendars updated and managed

Manage emails and calls
-
Ordering studio and office supplies
Required qualifications:

Strong written and verbal communication skills (technical writing a plus)

The ability to self-prioritize and switch gears quickly as needed

Knowledge and comfortability analyzing income statements

A firm understanding of basic accounting
